Glenn Beck's Caliphate- In their own words.

Amplify’d from islamic-world.net

Muslim brothers and sisters, in the name of Allah you are called to jihad.

This statement marks the beginning of worldwide Islamic jihad. To make so serious a call upon the Muslim ummah there must indeed be dire circumstances. It is only right that the basis for this call to jihad be clearly explained. Right now the battle with shaitan is being lost. In modern terms this is the battle against western secular materialism.

You must know deeply in your heart that the influence of western secular materialism is the influence of shaitan. Western secular materialism takes us from our prayers, takes us from our Islamic culture, takes us from our Islamic economic system, takes us from our Islamic educational system, takes us from our Islamic values, turns our minds from Allah, and robs our children of an Islamic future. Western secular materialism gives us a society of crime, violence, drug abuse, alcoholism, prostitution, pornography, homosexuality, exploitation of people and resources, and reduces life to a meaningless exercise in futility. Western secular materialism creates in the minds of our children atheistic thought, disrespect for parents and elders, hopelessness, disregard for knowledge, and love of a debased animalistic lifestyle focused on only the crudest pleasures of the flesh. Do you not know this is exactly what shaitan most desires?

Right now the Western nations are actively pushing their shaitanic culture upon the rest of the world. They are the most powerful nations militarily and economically that have ever existed in the history of the world. They use that military and economic power to remake the world in their image. They also have the most effective tools of propaganda and influence the world has ever seen. This form of brainwashing is carried out through their news media, television, movies, popular music, and fashion. They have been very successful in the developing countries and the Muslim nations in using these powerful tools of influence to mold and twist the minds of the young so that they crave, praise and participate in that depraved Western culture.

The leaders of the Western world have already specifically identified Islam as the most powerful remaining threat to their way of life since the fall of communism, and have proclaimed this belief to their people. How often are the citizens of Western nations told that Muslims are fanatical terrorists, who have spread Islam across the world by the sword; and, how seldom do they hear the wondrous Truths of Islam, of the Mercy and Compassion of Allah? Let there be no doubt, the goal of the leaders of the Western world is to destroy the power of Islam.

Of course, they are partly right. Islam is the only real threat that exists to their way of life, to the shaitanic aspects of their culture. Nothing else in this world has any chance of stopping the power of Western secular materialism. Allah gave the people of the world Islam as their religion. Islam is the only way to stop the power of shaitan to rule this world.

Allah gave us as our responsibility the role of kalifah in this world. The primary role of the kalifah is to fight against the influence of shaitan. This obligation has three parts; we are to perfect ourselves according to the Will of Allah, we are to perfect all society according to the Will of Allah, and we are to perfect the physical environment according to the Will of Allah. Right now the Muslim ummah is not fulfilling this obligation.

In Islam there are obligations upon the individual and there are obligations upon the ummah. Every Muslim is responsible for fulfilling his or her own individual obligations. Responsibilities upon the ummah are usually fulfilled by only those among the ummah who specifically take on that responsibility. If those within the ummah who take on the responsibility successfully fulfill that obligation then it fulfills the requirement for all members of the ummah. If an obligation upon the whole ummah is not being fulfilled by those within the ummah who take on the responsibility then that obligation falls upon every member of the ummah until the obligation is successfully fulfilled.

It is for these reasons that this call to jihad is made upon every Muslim brother and sister in the world. This is an obligation upon every Muslim above the age of puberty, though due to the seriousness of the circumstances Muslims below the age of puberty should also be encouraged to be part of this jihad. Each has the responsibility to do as much as is possible and in every way that they can, to successfully complete this jihad. The authority to make this call to jihad rests in the truth of the words not in power bestowed on those who make the call. Judge these words according to the Will of Allah. If we lose this battle against shaitan then Islam is lost. This is the last battle, this is the final jihad.

A few important issues must be made clear in this call to jihad:

We must know who and what is the enemy. It is important to realize that not all things of the Western world and not all people from Western culture are evil. There are many good things offered through Western knowledge, technology and medicine. There are many good people in Western nations trying to live right lives. These things and these people are not our enemy; they also are victims of Western secular materialism. The enemy can be found in many places. The enemy is every idea, every word and every action that is in opposition to the Will of Allah. The enemy is those who hold to the wrong beliefs, those who speak in support of what is wrong, and those who act against the Will of Allah.

We must know how to fight this battle and what weapons to use. Islam gives us the answer. This is not to be a jihad of the sword, or of guns, bombs and violence. Not only would that be wrong, but also we would have no chance of success against the military might of the Western world. Non-Muslims must know they will never be harmed by this jihad, and must be helped to realize that it is done for their great benefit also. This is to be jihad fought only in the battlefield of the mind with a weapon far more powerful than any sword or bomb. The weapon in this jihad must be knowledge, but do not believe this to be solely an educational jihad. Knowledge can be wielded with the precision of a sharp sword to effect any desired social/political change necessary for the fulfillment of Islam.

There may be those who will say that this jihad is not necessary, that we can rely on Allah to protect us. Those who wait for Allah to save them wait in vain. Did not our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) say, "Rely on Allah, but first tie up your camel". We must consider the full and universal implication of those words. Allah does not do it for us. Allah has given us the knowledge of what we must do in every situation and when we follow His Will we can rely on Him to ensure the right outcome.

We must know this is a battle we will win, although it will be a most difficult struggle. At the battle of Badr who was stronger, 300 poorly equipped Muslims with Allah or 1000 well-equipped opponents of Islam without Allah? Is it not true that even one rightly guided Muslim with Allah at his side is stronger than all the armies in the world who do not have Allah on their side? Today there are perhaps 1.2 billion Muslims in the world, and we are not so poorly equipped as the opponents of Islam might like to believe. With Allah on our side we cannot do other than win - if we act rightly.

Note: This is the only the first in a series of messages which will be provided for use in the worldwide struggle to establish a truly and fully Islamic world. This declaration simply and publicly calls the Muslim ummah to jihad. It does not yet provide any of the necessary specifics for success. At this point no one but Allah knows exactly how to proceed, although everything necessary for success already exists within the ummah. We must all learn together the path that must be followed. As a first step each Muslim who receives this call to jihad is asked to make copies and distribute them widely to their Muslim brothers and sisters. Every Muslim in the world must hear this call.

MSNBC David Gregory on how MB has matured:

MSNBC

Andrea Mitchell Reports

February 4, 2011

1:32 p.m. EST

DAVID GREGORY, host of Meet the Press: Well, that’s a huge question. What the administration seems to be working toward, and what experts think is possible, is some kind of transition period, some kind of coalition government. You talk about the Muslim Brotherhood. They would play a role. It was pointed out by one of the experts on the panel that they will also be aware of their position internationally. They don’t want to overstep that. They don’t want to turn it into an Islamist state. They have matured politically in that sense and are rather sophisticated. The question of Mohammed El Baradei, whether he’s someone who’s actually a legitimate opposition force remains to be seen. What role will the military play in some kind of coalition government or a transitional phase. That’s also very important.

Expose why the Muslim Brotherhood is dangerous

  • Ideological forebear of Hamas and al Qaeda

  • Approves of terrorism against Israel and the West

  • Ayman Al-Zawahiri was a member of Muslim Brotherhood.  He is now Al Qaeda’s operational and strategic commander (according to the U.S. State department), he’s Osama Bin Laden’s personal physician.

  • HAMAS:  Formed in late 1987 as an outgrowth of the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood.

  • AL QAEDA:  Mohammed Atta (flew the first hijacked plane into the North Tower of the World Trade Center) was a member of syndicate led by Muslim Brotherhood

  • AL QAEDA: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (aka hairy back dude) arrested for membership of MB, according to the 9/11 commission report he was the “principal architect of 9/11 attacks, confessed to a role in the WTC bombings in 1993, murder of Daniel Pearl, etc.  Went to Afghanistan, joined al Qaeda, and orchestrated the ’97 massacre of 77 foreign tourists, do you remember, at Luxor.

  • Sharia Law:  MB to see the country governed according to Islamic law

  • Stated goal against USA:  The Brotherhood’s agenda in the U.S. is subversive: the Muslim Brothers “must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.” — “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America,” by Mohamed Akram, May 19, 1991.

Who Didn’t Beck Blame For Egypt’s Unrest?

February 05, 2011 1:00 am ET — 67 Comments

As protesters took to the streets of Egypt this week, Glenn Beck took to his multiple broadcast platforms to weave an elaborate theory about the forces behind the uprising. During this span, Beck connected the protests and violence in Egypt to, among other things, Islamic socialists, Marxist communists, food prices, Bill Ayers, Code Pink, ACORN co-founder Wade Rathke, the Tides Foundation’s Drummond Pike, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the AFL-CIO.

“The 66-member delegation met several times with Hamas officials in the several days it spent in Gaza, and delegates (including me) encouraged them to write a letter to Obama expressing that he visit Gaza while in the Middle East to see the damage for himself of the assault earlier this year and the border blockade. One Hamas official stayed up all night and wrote the letter to Obama for the delegates to deliver to Cairo tomorrow.”

CODEPINK Peace Activists Join Egyptians on the Ground in Cairo, Available for Phone Calls, Interviews

http://www.codepink4peace.org/article.php?id=5682

Human rights activists from the organization CODEPINK joined Egyptian protesters this week in Cairo as perhaps the only international solidarity delegation on the ground in the country.  They have been in the streets with the Egyptian people for the last five days. Several members of the group of nine activists are available by phone for interviews this week. Tomorrow the delegation plans to do a solidarity action at the US Embassy. Medea Benjamin, a leader of the delegation and co-founder of CODEPINK Women for Peace, is currently available by cell phone in Cairo at 011 20-107148431.

The activists report that Egyptians have been excited to see their message of solidarity from the American people. Many Egyptian protesters are carrying signs that say “My address is Tahrir square until Mubarak leaves” and they are holding firm. The activists also report that many Egyptian youth seem ecstatic that President Obama has acknowledged their voice in Egypt’s political affairs but they want him to put more pressure on Mubarak to step down. Women are in the streets and have played a major role in the grassroots movement for democracy in Egypt.  Today, as violence towards peaceful demonstrators escalates, the activists said rumors have circulated that the pro-Mubarak agitators are paid supporters of the dictator.

The international CODEPINK delegation had been en route to Gaza via Egypt but with the Rafah border closed they are unable to enter Gaza, and remain in Cairo. The activists will stay in Cairo until they can safely make their way to Gaza, where they intend to continue their delegation for peace. The delegation includes people from the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, Switzerland and India.  This is CODEPINK’s ninth trip to Egypt and Gaza in the past two years.

Groups behind the GAZA Flotilla:

The group behind the Gaza flotilla that engaged in deadly clashes with Israeli commandos today counts among its top supporters the friends and associates of President Barack Obama, namely the founders of the Weather Underground terrorist organization, William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, as well as Jodie Evans, the leader of the radical activist organization Code Pink. The flotilla was organized by the Free Gaza Movement, a coalition of leftist human rights activists and pro-Palestinian groups engaged in attempts to break a blockade imposed by Israel on the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.   Ayers, Dohrn and Evans’ Code Pink have led several recent Free Gaza Movement initiatives, including attempted marches into the Gaza Strip.

Put your pencil and computers down for a second, and read a book, if you are unable to simply listen to what people on the street in Egypt are saying.  This is how revolutions are made from the bottom, and it’s why they are unstoppable, despite the huge forces daily trying to co-opt their energy and power.

“In a final note for those who rightly should be keeping score at home, props to the Citizen Lab at the University of Toronto, which once again is at the forefront of monitoring these intersections of politics and technology and was invaluable in monitoring traffic here in Egypt like they were earlier in looking at Google’s experience in China and Russian bot attacks. These folks are good and worth following, and I mean that literally since I track them on Twitter.

But in the meantime keep your running shoes handy and in good repair. The streets are on fire and we need to keep our feet in shape so the dogs can keep barking.

An International Dialogue in Egypt

September 25, 2011 to September 30, 2011

Our fall 2011 International Dialogue will be located in Egypt where we will meet with labor and community organizers and other activists in Cairo.  There are exciting changes and developments that are currently taking place in Egypt with elections coming soon to determine leadership transitions in what has been an autocratic regime, now challenged by the Muslim Brotherhood and succession and democracy issues.  The trip is still in the planning stages, and we will post updates as soon as we have them.

We plan to travel with approximately 15-20 participants, and we will strive to have a mix of both community and labor organizers/leaders from a variety of community organizations and unions.  We look for participants to meet in Cairo, pay their own travel and visa costs in addition to a program fee. The Organizers Forum will pay for food, lodging, and ground transportation.  And, yes, though we are only planning to spend time in one city on this dialogue, we will see the Pyramids!

World A Guide to Our Recent Posts on Understanding Egypt

Recently, we posted a series of stories and blog posts about the Egypt conflict featuring guest contributors. This story is meant to be a one-stop-shop of sorts for that recent coverage. As such, it will be updated. Below you will find excerpts and links to the stories.

“Sometimes a word, like a faded Hollywood starlet, makes a surprising return to the spotlight … and so it is for caliphate.  The word owes its renewed popularity to Glenn Beck, who first raised the possibility of a new caliphate on his Fox television show.  Suddenly, the word went from relative obscurity to become one of Google’s most searched words, as revolution erupted in Egypt and the world began to wonder what would emerge from the anger in Egypt’s streets.”

“Many have a hard time understanding where the political left in Europe and the United States have common ground with this theo-political Islamist movement. Socialist ideology promotes an oppression of the individual for the collective needs of society and government. Islamist ideology similarly promotes the oppression of the individual for the ‘common good’ of the Islamic state. Both snuff out individual responsibility for tribal collective control.”

“From Muhammad’s death until the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1923, various Caliphates or dynasties ruled the Islamic world. The most significant Caliphates in historical order were the Rashidun, the Abbasid, the Umayyid, and finally the Ottoman. At times in Muslim history, there have even been rival claimant Caliphs in different parts of the Muslim world. Although the purpose of the Caliphate is to unify all Muslims worldwide, rarely has this genuinely been the case.  Islamists however often downplay this fact and instead portray the first thirteen hundred years of Islam through a highly idealized lens…”

“We are facing a moment in history that is unlike anything we have seen in our lifetimes. Never before have so many people in so many regions of the world simultaneously beat the drums of revolution. While change is inevitable, what can we do to prepare ourselves? And how might a widespread transition to extremist Islamic rule in the Middle East effect your pocketbook? Your investments? And perhaps the politics here in the United States.”

“Obama’s foreign policy is predicated on a belief in the real power of soft diplomacy, the unclenching of fists, and the oratorical equivalent of a hug. And when it comes to the Middle East, he is careful not to make too many demands (unless, of course, you were hoping to build some apartment buildings in East Jerusalem, in which case, he’d really rather you didn’t.)”

Glenn Beck's Warning... Listen.

Egypt Understanding Egypt: What Is a Caliphate?

Caliphate.

Sometimes a word, like a faded Hollywood starlet, makes a surprising return to the spotlight … and so it is for caliphate.  The word owes its renewed popularity to Glenn Beck, who first raised the possibility of a new caliphate on his Fox television show.  Suddenly, the word went from relative obscurity to become one of Google’s most searched words, as revolution erupted in Egypt and the world began to wonder what would emerge from the anger in Egypt’s streets.

One possibility is … a caliphate.

Simply, a caliphate is a form of government.  More precisely, it is an Islamic state that draws its authority from, and is based upon, Sharia law. Get used to hearing the word; it is the form of government advocated by the Muslim Brotherhood.

What exactly a caliphate looks like depends on whether you are a Sunni or a Shia Muslim.  Sunnis believe a caliphate should be a constitutional republic, whose leaders are elected by Muslims.  Shias believe the head of state is divinely chosen via a lineage of religious clerics called Imams.  Within Egypt, Sunnis outnumber Shias.

Those who dismiss the idea of a caliphate in Egypt are discounting the country’s history.  Egypt is hardly a stranger to such a form of government; it was part of the Ottoman Empire from the early 16th century until in the late 19th century.  The Ottoman Empire was the last great caliphate. It didn’t transition to a secular government model until 1924.

With almost four hundred years of history as a caliphate, it’s not surprising then that Egypt’s penal code is written and based upon Islamic law.  Perhaps this is to be expected in a country where an estimated 90% of the people are Muslim.  What is surprising is that Egypt’s government is, or at least has been, a secular model.   But will it remain so?

Given the country’s history and the religion of the overwhelming majority of its people, the stage may be set for the return of a caliphate, rising out of the present turmoil.  And what that means to you probably depends on who you are.  A caliphate may sound fine if you are Muslim.  It might chaff a little if you’re not.  Christians and Jews were treated as second-class citizens under the Ottoman Empire. Certainly to the American mind, raised to believe in the “wall of separation between church and state” as articulated by Thomas Jefferson, a caliphate is an anathema.

If the possibility of a caliphate in Egypt sounds improbable, consider these facts:  Egypt’s current government is in collapse, the largest and most organized opposition, the Muslim Brotherhood, champions Islamic law and Egypt was once part of a caliphate.

It never works out well to ignore history or facts.  The dramatic changes in Egypt cannot be denied nor can the implications for the entire region.  An improbable word has made a comeback. The government it represents might not be so far behind.

FROM WND'S JERUSALEM BUREAU

Soros fingerprints on Mideast chaos

Billionaire tied to opposition leader, funded groups opposing U.S. allies

By Aaron Klein

JERUSALEM – Philanthropist billionaire George Soros has funded opposition organizations in Egypt and throughout the Middle East, where anti-regime chaos has already toppled the pro-Western leader of Tunisia and is threatening the rule of President Hosni Mubarak, a key U.S. ally.

Mohamed ElBaradei, one of the main opposition leaders in Egypt, has also sat on the board of an international "crisis management" group alongside Soros and other personalities who champion dialogue with Hamas, a violent offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Brotherhood, which seeks to spread Islam around the world in part by first creating an Islamic caliphate in Egypt, now backs ElBaradai, who has defended the group in the news media the last few weeks.

ElBaradei suspended his board membership in the International Crisis Group, or ICG last week, after he returned to Egypt to lead the anti-Mubarak protests.

Soros is one of eight members of the ICG executive committee.

U.S. board members include Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was national security adviser to Jimmy Carter; Samuel Berger, who was Bill Clinton's national security adviser; and retired U.S. ambassador Thomas Pickering, who made headlines in 2009 after meeting with Hamas leaders and calling for the U.S. to open ties to the Islamist group.

Another ICG member is Robert Malley, a former adviser to Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign who resigned after it was exposed he had communicated with Hamas. WND first reported Malley had long petitioned for dialogue with Hamas.

The ICG defines itself as an "independent, non-profit, multinational organization, with 100 staff members on five continents, working through field-based analysis and high-level advocacy to prevent and resolve deadly conflict."

Soros also has other ties to opposition groups in the Middle East.

His Open Society Institute's Middle East and North Africa Initiative has provided numerous grants to a wide range of projects that promote so-called democratic issues across the region, including in Egypt, where the Muslim Brotherhood stands to gain from any future election.

Soros' Open Society also funded the main opposition voice in Tunisia, Radio Kalima, which championed the riots there that led to the ouster of President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.

In September, Soros' group was looking to expand its operations in Egypt by hiring a new project manager for its Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights, which is run in partnership with the Open Society Justice Initiative. The group is seeking to develop a national network of legal empowerment actors for referral of public-interest law cases. Such organizations in the past have helped represent Muslim Brotherhood leaders seeking election or more authority in the country.

Soros himself on Friday made public statements in support of the protests in Egypt, which the Mubarak government has warned will result in the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in the country.

In a Washington Post editorial entitled, "Why Obama Has to Get Egypt Right," Soros recognized that if free elections were held in Egypt, "the Brotherhood is bound to emerge as a major political force, though it is far from assured of a majority."

He stated the U.S. has "much to gain by moving out in front and siding with the public demand for dignity and democracy" in Egypt.

He claimed the "Muslim Brotherhood's cooperation with Mohamed ElBaradei … is a hopeful sign that it intends to play a constructive role in a democratic political system."

Soros did not mention his ties to ElBaradei.

Soros did, however, single out Israel as "the main stumbling block" in paving the way toward transition in the Middle East.

"In reality, Israel has as much to gain from the spread of democracy in the Middle East as the United States has. But Israel is unlikely to recognize its own best interests because the change is too sudden and carries too many risks," he wrote.

The information comes as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton today tentatively welcomed Muslim Brotherhood involvement in the next Egyptian elections, saying Washington would "wait and see" how talks develop.

"Today we learned the Muslim Brotherhood decided to participate, which suggests they at least are now involved in the dialogue that we have encouraged," Clinton told National Public Radio from Germany.

"We're going to wait and see how this develops, but we've been very clear about what we expect."

"The Egyptian people are looking for an orderly transition that can lead to free and fair elections. That is what the United States has consistently supported," said Clinton.

"The people themselves, and leaders of various groups ... will ultimately determine if it is or not meeting their needs."

She added: "I want to make very clear we have set forth the principles we support. We are adamant about no violence.

"We want to see peaceful protests that are, so far anyway, embodying the aspirations that are in our view very legitimate.

"And we want to see an orderly, expeditious transition."
